Biography: Joined Manchester United as an apprentice in July 1970 after turning down offers from seven other clubs. Became Wilf McGuinness's first professional signing after he succeeded Sir Matt Busby. Having been a regular in the Central League team from the age of sixteen. Despite being a professional for more than four years at United, he failed to make a first team appearance. Moved to Swansea, initially on loan in February 1974, when he was spotted by Harry Gregg in a practice match. He signed permanently a month later. He now lives in Rudyard, opened a successful swim school in Stoke-on-Trent and became head coach of Biddulph Amateur Swimming Club.
