Biography: After an illustrious playing career with Arsenal and England, Adams progressed into management with Wycombe Wanderers and had a 22 game spell in charge at Fratton Park following Harry Redknapp's first departure. In May 2010 he agreed to become the manager of Qabala FC in Azerbaijan, which is being relaunched and financed thanks to an injection of millions of dollars from one of the country's richest men. His assistant is another former player with Pompey connections, Gary Stevens.

Adams Great leader and it is a shame that the memory of his glittering career was tainted by his problems off the field. Thankfully, the story had a happy ending!
