Biography: Worked as a printer before deciding to pursue a footballing career. Was player/manager at Barnsley, before joining his old United pal, Bryan Robson, at Middlesbrough FC, as his assistant (1994 -2001). awarded the MBE by the Queen for services to football in the Millennium honours list. Currently a patron for the Youth Against Racism and has regularly been involved in charitable events throughout his career.
