Biography: Born in Rotherham but started his career at Southampton which was to take in nine league clubs. Moved into coaching, initially in Hong Kong, where he had a spell in charge of the national side. In 2003 he set up his own contract hire and leasing firm IBMH (Ian Baird Motor Holdings). Managed Havant & Waterlooville before taking over at Eastleigh in October 2007. His tenure at the Conference South side ended in 2013 and Baird has since gone on to manage Sutton United. He returned to Havant & Waterlooville and has been assistant manager to Paul Doswell since May 2019. His official autobiography' Bairdy's Gonna Get Ya!' was published in 2013. Voted one of Leeds United's top 100 greatest ever players.
