Biography: Geoff was yet another product of Aintorpe High School in Hull which in the 60's was a breeding ground for home-spun footballers, many of which made it in the professional game. This tall, lean youth signed for Cliff Britton, Hull City's manager during March 1967 and played a vital roll in the Centre-half position until his transfer to Southend in December 1970. Making only 25 appearances for Southend he moved on to Darlington in July 1971 where he quickly established himself wearing the number 5 shirt for 151 appearances and scoring 6 of his career total of 11 goals. February 1975 found Geoff moving South again when he was head-hunted by Reading to shore-up their defence and made 52 appearances before finally signing for Grimsby Town and after 66 appearances he retired from the pro' game. Geoff lives in the Willerby area which is on the outskirts of Hull, his home City where he worked predominately in sales until last year (2010)when he retired, early, to spend more time running 2 of his 3 grandchildren backwards & forwards to training sessions at Hull City's jnr' academy of football.
