Position: Full-back

Biography: Barnes guested for Southampton as an inside forward during the war. He played 32 games between 1941 and 1943 scoring 14 goals before moving to Arsenal where he became more widely known. He earned 22 caps for Wales and went on to manage the country of his birth. Barnes was boss of Wales between 1954 and 1956 and then went in to broadcasting, joining the BBC. Working closely with Kenneth Wolstenholme, he covered the 1966 World Cup final and continued to serve the Corporation until his death in 1975 aged 55.
