Bason, Brian Brian ran the Nelson Arms in Farnham in Surrey in the mid/late 1990s. Charming guy.

Bason, Brian I knew Brian in the 80’s when he came to play at Three Bridges F.C. He worked as a sales rep at Kingsland Paper, owned by Jim Steele, also Chairman of T.B.F.C. We came second in the Sussex County League, and went on to win the competition for a set of floodlights, under his captains hip. Brian was a lovely guy, humble and unassuming. Pity he did not get the opportunity to reach his potential. Though he reached ours for us.

Bason, Brian Brian ran the White Lion in Warlingham, Surrey immediately after retiring from football. He might not know my name but would remember me as "Nag". He was always good fun and a nice bloke.

Bason, Brian I went to Thomas Bennett for the first two years with Brian and like Brian I enjoyed sports and had a go at most things my main thing being rugby which Brian was head and shoulders above the rest of us he found it very easy to run through most teams and just made the game look very easy. The only time I had to go against him was house sports but we had a lad called Norman whose surname escapes me as a full back who was probably the smallest one of us but would almost certainly stop him lol. He was just a complete all rounder and a really nice person to be around.

Bason, Brian Brian and Brenda live not far from us in Brittany. We see a fair amount of each other which is mostly lunch or dinners but importantly Brian makes up a decent four ball at the local golf club. In fact, last week he holed a putt of 25 yards on the last to take the game 1 up. Lovely couple and Brian has some great football stories from his career in soccer.

Bason, Brian I first played against Brian at a Junior school game. I was at Desmond Anderson junior school, playing alongside Colin O'Hanlon, Alan Colclough and Brian played for the neighbouring Southgate junior school, with Gary Winder and Tony Reece. When the play leader Saturday leagues started, most of the Southgate boys played for Chelsea minors, and the Desmond Anderson team played as Tilgate Gunners (Colin' s dad favourite team).
Brian was a stand out player even then as a 9 year old. He just used to tear through the defence and scored every time. My mum was a dinner lady at Thomas Bennett school and used to say how nice and polite he always was. Happy memories

Bason, Brian Brian ran a hotel in Truro Cornwall after his pro career finished and played for Newquay in the South Western league and also local Truro based club Malabar. He was a well loved character and still a fantastic footballer at almost 40 before moving back up the line we have fond memories of him in Cornish football.

Brian I played with Brian while at Plymouth and was trying to find out what happened to some of my old team mates. Brian was a lovely friendly character and i for one enjoyed his banter. If this reaches him I would like to convey my best wishes and hope he is happy and enjoying life.

Bason, Brian Ken & Doris Bason finally settled in 'Southgate' Crawley with their 3 children,Linda,Bobby & Brian. He was 'spotted' by Chelsea manager Tommy Docherty playing for Crawley youth side 'Chelsea Minors' eventually signed as an apprentice at 15 (alongside a certain Mr Ray 'Butch' Wilkins) they both honed their craft in a struggling Chelsea team, cleaning the boots of such legends as Peter Osgood,Ron Harris,Peter Bonetti,Bobby Tambling, Mickey Droy etc(no access to full squad info)
Under new manager Dave Sexton, Brian made his 1st team appearance aged 17 (I think it was against Sheffield Wednesday) Attaining England International Youth caps, he was,indeed, a 'rising star' This, however, was cut short after a 'heavy' tackle by Arsenal's Sammy Nelson, Brian suffered a badly broken leg.
After treatment & recovery Brian was loaned to Vancouver White Caps, to gain match fitness & confidence.I know nothing of his time there,except to say that faced the legendary 'Pele' when 'White Caps' played 'New York Cosmos' Returning to Chelsea,Brian found it hard to regain his 1st team place under new manager Ken Shillito (apology's if that's not spelt correctly) Signed by Ron Noades to Crystal palace, he eventually found his way to PLymouth Argyle, where,I think, he is still fondly remembered.This brief summary is,to my knowledge, correct, taken from conversations with Brian (my brother-in-law) Bobby Bason (ditto) Linda Bason (now Linda Jones/my wife) and Kenneth & Doris Bason.(both now sadly deceased) Dedicated to Mum & Dad (Ken & Doris)---Mik Jones
