Position: Centre Forward

Biography: Once one of the most sought after centre forwards of his day. Joined Pompey in a big money deal in 1937... £3,000! Injuries and WW2 brought his career to an end. Later associated with the Scottish national side as a selector and worked as a farmer and potato grower in Angus. He died in 1965.

Beattie, Jimmy I'm his grandson and have plenty info. He became a selector for the SFA before Scotland had a manager. Transformed Glebe Park at Brechin city and got Stanley Matthews to play at the opening. His best pal was Scot Symon ex pompey who was my fathers god father. I have original Pompey team photos and his contract between Pompey and millwall and lots more
