Bennett, Peter BENNETT PETER. I hope it is OK to write on this forum as our friendhip was a lifetime ago...
We met in 1965 when we were both 18. Peter lived in Ickenham and I in Hillingdon. He played for West Ham then and was the nicest young man I had known. WH won the European Cup Winners Cup that year and held a big bash at the club to celebrate and to which Peter invited me.
It was amazing albeit I knew little of football then. I know his good friend HR says he is just the same lovely person he always was and I do not doubt that for a second. I believe he has had a good life and long may it continue. I will remember him always. The reason which prompted this message was that I have a new next door neighbour Jane, who was Peter's next door neighbour too a while ago. Almost unbelievable really. Small world. Bennett, Peter Yes l played in goal at Abbotsfield CSS when Peter played in the same team ... we both went on to represent NW Middx against Hayes & Harlington where his good friend Johnny Sissons played! Peter and Johnny went on to play for Middx where they were scouted and both ended up at West Ham.

Bennett, Peter I remember Peter when he was a little boy! He lived with his parents and sister Beverly next door to us in Ickenham, Middlesex until 1959 when I left for the United States. I visited his mother several times when I returned to England. Beautiful family!!!
