Position: Outside-forward

Biography: Born in Warsash, Bevis was an outside-right who started playing for his local team Gosport Borough in 1934, and then turned professional at Portsmouth before signing for Southampton for the 1937-38 season he became a regular over the next two seasons, but his career was then interrupted by the outbreak of WWII. He joined the Merchant Navy as a Petty Officer gunner, He was awarded the D.S.M. at Buckingham Palace by King George VI. He returned to Southampton after the war, but failed to re-establish himself in the team and returned to the Merchant Navy. He spent his final years in Park Gate just up the road from Warsash, where he died on 22nd August 1994 aged 75
