Biography: Versatile Welshman from Neath who spent ten years as a professional following his apprenticeship. During this time, he was used primarily as a squad player however this did not prevent him notching up a total of over 200 League and Cup appearances, and was capped by Wales on 39 occasions. Finally allowed to leave in 1994 when he linked up with former team mate Bryan Robson at Middlesbrough. Blackmore has previously been player manager of Welsh clubs Bangor City and Porthmadog. He briefly returned as a player for Neath Athletic. He is now back at United coaching the Under-15s and Under-16s after being involved in hospitality and television work at the club.
