Birthplace: Kingston, Jamaica

Position: Defender

Biography: Blakey was the cornerstone of many a Pompey defence in the 1980's. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, his 6ft 2in frame provided an intimidating challenge for opposing strikers. After 168 appearances in a Pompey shirt he moved on to Leeds United in 1988. Has since made a name for himself as a successful youth coach working for the FA For seven years where he coached the U16, U18 and U19 teams, playing a key role in the progression of young talent into senior international football - such as Raheem Sterling, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge, John Stones and Luke Shaw. Suffered a stroke in August 2015 and currently lives in Staffordshire. He is now Managing Director Absolute Football Consultancy Ltd, an FA Registered Intermediary and Player & Coach Mentor.
