Position: Goalkeeper

Biography: A goalkeeper who played for Derby County between 1964-78 although he only played regulary for them when he took over from Les Green at the start of 1971. Whilst not usually the first name to come out when asked to name players from Derby Countys two championship winning squads he was in fact the only player to appear in all 84 league games. He went on to make 344 appearances for them. When his playing career finished he rejoined the police force where he had been a cadet & then worked for Mitre the Sports Company. He still plays golf & plays in Derby Countys ex Rams annual golf day. He lives in Walton on Trent.

Boulton, Colin I played with Colin when we represented Cheltenham schoolboys. He was playing in midfield [left half] in those days. So obviously someone found a better position for him. All the best Colin.

Boulton, Colin Served with Colin (and his Dad) in Glos. Police. Played a lot of Cricket with him. He was fantastic fielder in the gulley and took numerous catches off my bowling!! Ken Daun

Boulton, Colin I played alongside Colin at Charlton Kings. We played the last game of the season playing in the Northern Senior Juniors Cup Final wining the match with 6 goals, Colin scored 4! He was our centre forward. This was April when we returned for pre season training July we heard Colin had signed for Derby as a goalkeeper.

Boulton, Colin Once played against him when he was at Charlton Kings and I was at St. Marks. Even then he oozed class.

Boulton, Colin I saw every match Colin played in Tulsa. We had an amateur team at the time, my best pal Tommy who passed last Friday was the goal keeper. He named his son Colin after Mr Boulton.
