Biography: Buckley has since managed Walsall, Kettering Town, West Bromwich Albion, Lincoln City and Rochdale. However he notably had three spells in charge of Grimsby Town between 1988 and 2008. He guided the club to three finals at Wembley, two of which ended in victory. The club were promoted twice under Buckley and were never relegated. Buckley has stayed in Grimsby since the early nineties, and often summarises Town matches on the local radio.

Buckley, Alan The best striker I have seen to wear a Saddlers shirt. What a privilege to watch him play. While we had him, he never missed, would score from anywhere. On the pitch, the Buck was just magical.
