Mick Buckley

Birthplace: Manchester

Position: Midfielder

Biography: A midfield player he played in the Football League between 1971-85. He is best remembered for his time at Everton between 1971-78 where he played 135 league games. In total he played 314 league games for his five clubs. After finishing playing football he became a self confessed alcoholic losing his job, home & wife. In 2008 he was helped by the Everton Former Players Association who had found out he was living in a bed & breakfast in Manchester. They got him in the Sporting Chance clinic. Later he was struck down by a serious illness and died on 7th October 2013.

Buckley, Mick I played with mick for whitehill boys back in the late sixties. Whitehill were man city's junior team at the time. Even then you could see he would make the grade,great lad too. God bless him.
