Burton, Ollie Burton was part of the Norwich City team that became the second winners of the newly established League Cup, beating Rochdale by an aggregate score of 4-0. The final then being a two-legged affair. In the first leg, played at Spotland, Norwich won 1-0 and in the second leg, played at Carrow Road, Norwich won 3-0. He was also an Inter-Cities Fairs Cup winner with Newcastle United and has the distinction of being the first-ever substitute to be used by Newcastle United, coming on for the injured Trevor Hockey on 04/09/1965 in a 2-0 home victory at St James’s Park. Given a testimonial at Newcastle, on 14/05/1973, there were 35,873 spectators saying thank you to Ollie for over a decade of excellent service. His retirement from the game being forced by a knee injury.
