Carr, Willie I went to St Bedes RC School in Cambridge and remember the great excitement amongst my classmates when we were told a new pupil due to arrive next term was a Scottish International Schoolboy Footballer.
I used to ride my bike with Willy to and from school most days and was one of the lucky few pupils chosen to go to Coventry City FC to witness our school friend sign his contract. We had lunch in a local Hotel with Jimmy Hill then went to the game afterwards and had VIP seats. As we walked along the line to our seats people in the crowd kept asking us who we were and we told them we were the England Schoolboy National Team.
