Birthplace: Blackburn

Position: Inside-left

Biography: Inside-left. 'Hooky' was an England international who excelled as a player with both Everton and Liverpool but it was as a coach that he may well be remembered. After a spell in Germany, he moved to Holland and ultimately became the Dutch national coach. It was during this stint, that he guided their team to a Bronze medal in both the 1908 and 1912 Olympic Games. After the First World War he returned to Blackburn and to his original trade, which was as a baker. Died in 1942, aged 72.
