Position: Winger

Biography: Signed for Tranmere while at Liverpool University. Manchester United spotted his promise and took him to Old Trafford in February 1975 for £60,000. Before injury cruelly took him out of the game, Steve had played for his country 42 times and made over 300 appearances as a 'Red Devils'. Went into management at Crystal Palace and was tipped to be a future England manager. However, he chose to resign in 1993 and became Chief Executive of the Football League Managers Association, a post that he held until March 1995. Returned to Selhurst Park as technical director and later successfully managed Reading. He resigned in 2009 after they lost their play off semi-final against Burnley. (Played in three FA Cup finals winning once)
