Birthplace: Alton, Hampshire

Position: Left-half

Biography: Pompey's all time great, won 48 England caps as a dependable wing half. Jimmy continued to serve at Fratton Park as Scout; P.R.O.; and briefly manager, having set a record of 764 appearances for one club, which stood until 1980 when John Trollope played six games more for Swindon Town. Suffered three heart attacks, and sadly died in 1982 at the age of 57. (Played in 764 League games which is a club record)
