Born: 1959

Birthplace: Accrington, Lancashire

Biography: Born in Accrington and nurtured through the youth system, Mike signed professional terms in 1976 but had to wait a further four years before making his first team debut. His adaptability proved useful to successive managers but it was at right back that he really made his mark. A string of impressive performances resulted in being called up to the England team for whom he made ten appearances in the 1980s. A knee injury hindered his later years and ultimately he joined Blackburn Rovers in 1990. Finished his career at Bradford City where he worked under fellow old boy, Frank Stapleton. Duxbury has been a PE teacher at Bolton School, since 1996 after a spell abroad helping out at soccer schools.
