Biography: Retired 1979 Worked at West Brom, as a Commercial Assistant and then as Assistant Secretary. In 1985 became Club Secretary at Port Vale. before joining the ticket office at Aston Villa.

Fairfax, Ray I knew Ray back when I was training to be a groundsman at WBA in the mid-eighties. He was a very driven man. He wasn't very patient to work with, not great with me personally, but very charismatic and energetic. I wish i'd paid more attention to him now. Looking back he was quite a character.

Fairfax, Ray Ray Fairfax was the man who sparked up my initial interest into becoming a qualified football coach and it was thanks to him I eventually finished up coaching the game in Africa and toured many countries with my team in the African Cup Winners Cup. Had it not been for Ray I might never have started coaching the game at amateur, semi pro and finally as a full time job. Cheers and thanks Ray.
