Biography: Long-haired Scotsman's career was brought to a premature end by knee problems at the age of 25, following a tackle by Leeds' Johnny Giles. By then, he had succeeded Shay Brennan as United's first choice right back after arriving at the club, where he won an FA Youth Cup winner's medal in 1964 as a wing half. He was United's first ever substitute used in a 5-1 defeat against Tottenham. He then returned home to Aberdeen where he eventually set up his own wine importing business.
