Biography: A speedy winger appeared to be heading for the top after spending four promising seasons in the youth and reserve teams, but he never made the step up despite a hat trick in the 7-3 win over Leyton Orient in November 1977. Was sold to Brentford for £15,000 after a loan spell but drifted out of the game in the same season. Became an HGV lorry driver working for Pickfords in Horsham, Sussex.

Frost, Lee The 7-3 win over Orient, when Lee Frost scored a hat trick, was 1979.
Chelsea had many promising youngsters 1977 - 1981 who always started well but then disappeared. Maybe coaches did not develop them properly.
