Biography: A Busby Babe, he replaced Bill Foulkes at right back for the closing stages of the 1955-1956 season and helped the club clinch the League title. He was also a member of the 1958 FA Cup losing side but a knee injury ended his Old Trafford career. He went into coaching before managing Bolton, Oxford and Mansfield. He scouted for both United before retiring. He sadly died after a long illness in January 2009 in Ainsworth, Bury aged 76.
