Biography: At 5ft 8in he was small for a goalkeeper but still played at the highest level. He joined Derby County in May 1968 & went on to make 129 consecutive appearances for them until Boxing Day 1970 when he was blamed for some of the goals conceded in a 4-4 draw with Manchester United.He never played for them again & went to South Africa to play for Durban City until a broken leg finished his playing career. He returned to England & managed four non league clubs. After a nine month battle against cancer he died in July 2012 aged 70.
