Birthplace: Fenton, Staffordshire

Position: Left-back

Biography: The move to United breathed new life into his career, he became an international trialist in 1936 the same season as helping the club to the Second Division title, missing only one game. The full back's career was ended with the outbreak of World War Two. After retiring, he worked as a masseur in Hyde, Cheshire.
