Birthplace: Amsterdam, Netherlands

Position: Midfielder/Forward

Biography: The Dutch master was signed by Glenn Hoddle on a free transfer from AC Milan to play as sweeper. He immediately became a huge hit with fans who recognised him as one of the best all round players ever to have played for the club. Was appointed player- manager when Hoddle was head-hunted by the FA to become the new England boss. He brought silverware to the club in the shape of the FA Cup in 1997, but was sacked midway through the following season, three months before the club won the Cup Winners Cup. Gullitt has since managed Newcastle, Feyenoord and LA Galaxy. Is now an ambassador for big business and works as a television pundit.
