Position: Forward

Biography: Started repaying his £350 transfer fee when he opened his goal scoring account in the first time of his United career. A top opportunist marksman of his day, he won League Championship and FA Cup winner's medals, he became the first player to appear in three Cup Finals with different clubs, he also netted six times in the 1911 Charity Shield win over Swindon Town. He was sold to Aston Villa for £1,200. Scouted for Charlton for a couple of years before opening a tobacconist's shop in Walton on Naze. Died in Colchester County Hospital in March 1943, aged 63.

Halse, Harold My grandad knew Harold when he lived in Walton. Scored twice on his England debut but was never picked again.
