Hannigan, Ernie Love You Uncle Ernie xx from Caroline

Hannigan, Ernie I live in Perth, Western Australia and know Ernie very well. There are too many funny stories to write in here of this lovable character.

Hannigan, Ernie I heard with great sadness of Ernie's death. I played inside right to his Outside-right in the St Paul's primary school Glasgow team of 1954-55. Even then you knew he would do well. I was lucky enough to win two schoolboy tickets in a raffle for the Scotland versus Hungary game at Hampden on December 8, 1954. And so Ernie and I saw Puskas and co for the first time. We also got lost on the way home. For any family member or friend who is interested, the full story of our day out is told in my memoir Pies Were For Thursdays (Amazon.co.uk) It's all about what life was like for kids like Ernie and myself growing up in the east end of Glasgow after the war when money was scarce and pocket money was non existent. May he rest in peace. Dick Lynas

Hannigan, Ernie I used run around with Ernie when he played for Q of the South great times!
