Hickson, Dave Worked with Dave in the 1970's. I was a joiner and Dave was working with the brickies. During the tea breaks Dave and Brian Woodall ( ex Sheffield Wednesday) would tell us tales about their experiences as professional footballers. Dave once told me how he would 'rattle' Billy Wright by saying 'you're not getting much Joy today Billy' ( Billy Wright was married to Joy Beverly of 'The Beverly Sisters'.) I accompanied Dave on a few testimonial nights and my wife Jean & I met Bill (Dixie) Dean and his daughter on a night out Dave. I lost touch with him when I moved jobs ,but bumped into him occasionally. I went to his funeral at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral in 2013. Dave was a true gentleman with a great sense of humor.

Hickson, Dave One of the few to play for all 3 of Merseysides senior clubs. A lion on the pitch but a lovely gentle soul off it. Sadly passed away in 2013. He latterly lived in sheltered accommodation in Willaston, Wirral.
