Position: Defender

Biography: A Manchester born defender, joined the club as a trainee and made his League debut against Barnsley in May 1998. Was sent out on loan but still found his chances were few and far between, ending up with a £2 million transfer to Derby County in July 2000. He joined Stoke City for a second time in July 2008 in a £2.5 million deal after a spell at Sunderland, and remains at the Britannia Stadium. The battling full back has also played for Derby County and Southampton.
