David Hopkin

Clubs played for: Greenock Morton, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Bradford City (1989-2003)

Born: 1970

Birthplace: Greenock, Scotland

Position: Midfielder

Biography: When he arrived at the club for £300,000 from Morton it was as a right winger, but when Glenn Hoddle took over at the club he was forced to re-invent himself in a more central midfield role. He still didn't ever really establish himself in the first team despite his hard working ethic and never looked comfortable away from the touchline. Was sold to Crystal Palace for £850,000 in 1995, where he made his name. Later settled in Scotland and worked at the Port of Glasgow. Now lives in Greenock, where he runs a newsagent's shop.
