Biography: Former naval physical training instructor who was signed as cover for regular goalkeeper Ernie Butler in 1946. Was at the club during the Championship years but was only called upon a handful of times before moving to Northampton Town. Later managed Gravesend,Gloucester City, Oxford City and then became a sports ground manager while coaching part time. Retired to live the quiet life in Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire.
