Biography: Aged 17 in 1956 he was selected to play for England under 23's. On the eve of the game Matt Busby went over to him & said 'I will come & get you in time' During the match he suffered a badly broken leg & had to retire from football. However he went to Australia to play & build up his fitness. He then returned to England & played non league football before rejoining Doncaster in 1963. Between 1963 - 1969 he played 191 games for Doncaster & scored 95 goals. On leaving the game he became landlord of The Black Bull pub in Doncaster. He died aged 61 in November 2000 from a heart attack whilst on holiday in Spain.Thousands of mourners were at his funeral as Doncaster came to a standstill.

MANCHESTER CITY Versus INTERNATIONAL X1 This was played at BELLE VUE GROUND , DONCASTER on Tuesday 28th November 1972..Also got a copy of THE LIFE STORY OF..ALICK JEFFREY, DONCASTER ROVER'S LEGEND...I'm wondering if I can get a copy of his ORDER OF SERVICE from his Funeral..He died whilst on Holiday in SPAIN in 2000...{Heart Attack}
