Jones, Stan My precious uncle whom I hold in high regard xxxx

Jones, Stan Was a solid centre half for the Saddlers. My memory is of him heading the winning goal at The Hillary Street end at Fellows Park v Oldham Athletic in a 2-1 win. I was lucky enough to win the ball in the raffle. A group of us 15 year olds couldn’t even kick it, an old type football that absorbed water. Tough cookies in those days.

Jones, Stan Did we play football in the army team at Droitwich around 1959 - 60? Glad to say I am 88 years old and still O.K.

Jones, Stan I was one of his bridesmaids when he got married. My dad and grandad knew him.

Jones, Stan I'm Stan's one of five grandchildren and my name is Hollie. I am 12 years old. I just wanted to let fans know that he is still passionate about football and tells stories and encourages my brother, George named after Stan's Middle name and cousin Oscar to play football. He, his sons and grandsons always play football together with him in the backgarden whenever we go round! Have a lovely day bye x

Jones, Stan I'm not related but lived next door to Stan and Cherry and the family for years. Went to a few games with Stan at Walsall when I was a starstruck 13 year old, and met loads of famous faces whilst waiting for him after the game, including Tommy Trinder, Bobby Robson, Phil Parkes, and World Cup referee Jack Taylor. Forget that - the important bit is you could not wish to meet a nicer man nor family, and for that alone I am still a little starstruck !

Jones, Stan Today is Stan's 50th wedding anniversary. I was bridesmaid as we are cousins and on this day the whole wedding party went from the church to watch Stan play for West Brom against West Ham before the wedding reception!!! West Brom won 1-0!!

Jones, Stan Congratulations Stan & partner. What a coincidence that I would have thought about our time at Catterick when searching through some old family history yesterday.Glad to say I am still alive,& enjoy the odd game of golf. All the best to you both.My marriage partnership has now clocked up 53 years,so as the old saying goes 'GET SOME IN'.Cheers for now regards John Cox
