Biography: Kanchelskis may have been of Ukranian descent but everyone understood the language of his feet. He had the power to turn a game with deft control and incredible speed. He was signed for £650,000 in March 1991 and he soon became a regular, despite competition from Mike Phelan and Bryan Robson. He was part of United's first ever League Cup winning side before helping them lift the first of their Premier League crowns. He then helped do the double in 1994 and finished the following season as leading scorer with 15 goals. But a falling out with Sir Alex Ferguson led to his £5.5 million departure to Everton. Continued to play in England for Everton Man City, and Southampton. In 2007, Kanchelskis returned to Russia and was appointed sporting director of FC Nosta Novotroitsk. However in December 2009, he became manager of Torpedo Moscow.
