Martin Kuhl

Martin Kuhl

Clubs played for: Birmingham City, Sheffield United, Watford, Portsmouth, Derby County, Notts County, Bristol City. (1983-1994).

Born: 1965

Birthplace: Frimley

Position: Midfielder

Biography: A popular midfielder who was voted Player of the season in 1991. It is a shame that his missed penalty kick in the 1992 FA Cup semi-final clouded an otherwise successful five year stay. Was known as a 'hard man' in midfield and certainly took no prisoners. It was this tag that persuaded him to accept an offer to play in Hong Kong in an attempt to shake off the reputation towards the end of his career. He never did return to play in the league and finished up in non-league soccer before qualifying for his coaching badges. Coached at Aldershot and then followed Gary Waddock to Wycombe Wanderers. Player of the season in 1991.
