Large, Frank The match where Frank played with his arm strapped was against Fulham, but I think it was away not at home. His nickname at Leicester was farmer Large because of the way he ploughed down the middle of the pitch (very muddy in those days).

Large, Frank Did Frank Large get sent off playing for Northampton against Swansea at the Vetch Field for kicking the ball into the crowd and getting punched by a Swansea supporter?

Large, Frank One of the most admired forwards Leicester City had. In one home match, cannot remember the opposition, but well into the match, Frank came tanking into the goalmouth, threw himself with a diving header missed the ball but collided with the left hand post. He was treated on the pitch for about five minutes and limped off carrying and injury to his arm. Well, thats it for Frank today we thought, but about five or six minutes later he came on to the pitch with his arm strapped tightly to his chest. What a roar went up, what a man, and he carried on playing as if nothing had happened. Loved him.

Large, Frank My father Paul Winterbottom grew up with Frank, attended Ingram Road school in Leeds and played in the highly successful football team together. My dad still marvels at how good a footballer and tough Frank was.

Large, Frank Frank was playing for Kettering in 1975 against Wimbledon when Roger Connell, Wimbledon's bearded 6 foot 3inch striker, came charging in to get involved in a scuffle between Large and Lucas from Wimbledon, only for Large to catch him with a beautiful left hook which put him down! Large received a standing ovation from the home crowd as he was walking off the pitch having been dismissed by the ref. Great memories for all that were there!

LARGE, Frank L-L-L-Largie, L-L-L-Largie, he's the greatest centre forward in the land.
Thanks for the memories Frank, from a Cobblers supporter back in the day.
