Birthplace: Newton Heath, Manchester

Position: Inside-forward /Wing-half

Biography: Joined United as an amateur, training two nights a week whilst working for a coal merchant. He turned professional after the Munich air crash and made steady progress after making his debut against Luton in April 1960. Enjoyed his best run in the team in 1961-1962 including a hat trick against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day 1961, but when Paddy Crerand arrived at the club, he was allowed to join Preston. He had several jobs before returning to Newton Heath and worked as a sales director at an export packaging company. Sadly lost a battle to cancer in April 2006.
