Biography: Arrived at Stamford Bridge three weeks after signing a professional contract at Newcastle's St James Park, in a part exchange deal involving Tommy Robson. Played his only league game against Leicester City in May 1967 but with Ron Harris, John Hollins and John Boyle already at the club, he could not make the breakthrough and quit the game aged 20. He emigrated to South Africa before returning home in 1976. After a spell playing under Barry Bridges in Ireland, he went to work for Wimpey Homes as chief buyer before setting up his own business in the building industry.
