Biography: A £20,000 signing by Tommy Docherty from Irish outfit Bohemians, he initially helped the club beat the drop only to lose his place the following season when the relegation trap door opened below them. He failed to hold down a regular place in the promotion winning side and was sold to WBA, managed by Johnny Giles,. Has since coached both Newcastle and Celtic, and has been working as a radio pundit in the north east.
