Position: Forward /Midfielder

Biography: Arrived at Old Trafford from Glasgow Celtic in July 1987 for £850,000 in a move south that proved fruitful. His first season brought 24 goals, the first United player to score 20 goals in a season since George Best 20 years previously. He formed a lethal partnership after a slow start with Mark Hughes, he scored the only goal in the 1992 League Cup Final, he was pushed back into midfield after the arrival of Eric Cantona but his chances became fewer when Roy Keane was signed. By the time he retired, he had won four Premier League titles, three FA Cups, a League Cup, five Charity Shields and a UEFA Cup Winners Cup. In 1998, McClair joined Blackburn Rovers as assistant manager before returning to United to become a youth team coach. He also held the position of reserve team manager before being appointed Academy director in 2006.
