Biography: Tipped for a big future when he broke into the first team during Ron Atkinson's first season in charge at Manchester United, but then his Old Trafford career stalled when Norman Whiteside came through. He was loaned out to Wolves and then sold to Pompey for £85,000 in July 1984. Brought in to replace Mark Hateley, he only managed a few appearances and never lived up to his star billing. Later lived in Scotland, setting up his own company, Moneystone, which sold sand to sports clubs and agricultural concerns. He then moved to Prestwich, working as a football agent and a business consultant, now manager of Manchester Maccabi.

McGarvey, Scott Remember playing against Scott in Easterhouse back in the day. He was Auchengill, I was with Glassel. Great player and a nice bloke. Remember he was head and shoulders above everybody.

McGarvey, Scott I met Scott many years ago at Carlisle train station, he had just been for trials for Man U under 18. We traveled home together, I had been away with the territorial army.
