Biography: It is rumoured that Tommy McGee signed his first professional contract at Portsmouth Harbour station. Manager Eddie Lever was so keen to secure his signature he made a cab journey across the City to catch McGee before he caught his train back to Manchester. The right-back formed a great partnership with Jack Mansell and notched up 135 appearances over five seasons and gained a call up to the England 'B' squad. Ended his career at Reading and worked for de Havillands and British Aerospace in Hamble. Now lives in retirement in Portsmouth.
