Biography: Born in Netley, McGibbon was the son of former Saints forward Charlie McGibbon. He was a prolific goalscorer in throughout his career which included all of the WWII years and the League South prior to the start of Post WWII League football. He still holds the record for the fastest Southampton goal 4.6 seconds from kick off this goal was one of six he scored in a 7-0 victory over Chelsea. His playing career was ended after a collision with a ÐCrossbarÓ. After football he worked in the aircraft industry in Hamble for a while, He died in Aylesbury aged 83 in 2002
