McHale, Ray Hi Ray. You were great at Swindon I remember you used to be called bonus cos before a game you would tell all ‘let’s get the bonus for winning. You will remember Cammy, Chic Bates, Brian (Animal) Williams The holiday in Menorca. Where in Spain are you now? Regards. Colin Reay

McHale, Ray Hi Ray, Gillingham fan here. I take it you're aware that you're name is sometimes sung by the Priestfield massive - "And we will fight for ever more, because of Ray McHale!".

Just wondering what your memories of THAT game are? As far as Gillingham supporters of a certain vintage are concerned it was the two Gills v Swindon games in 1979 that began a rivalry (at least in Gills' fans' minds) that still, to a certain extent, pertains today.

It'd be very interesting to hear your memories of those games.

Many thanks, Billy

McHale, Ray We bump into Ray often when in Spain. He looks fit and well and plays a lot of tennis and less golf now. Has great stories of his career. Much loved in Gillingham allegedly. Jovial and friendly....even for a Swindon past star.

McHALE, Ray Ray coached our team at Bishop Burton college and once said I was the best tackler he saw since Graeme Souness ha ha. He told me stories of how he only became scared as a player when he was at Anfield facing Tommy Smith. He drove our coach to matches and let us drink as much as we wanted on way home but wouldn't pull over so we could pee so the empty drinks bottles! Ray was none the wiser bless him. He was a top man and I hope he is happy and well. Gave us great advice and made us much better players. Forever grateful.

McHale, Ray When Ray retired from playing football he turned to playing Squash and I can assure you he was real quality, playing at County level, I now believe that he coaches soccer to juniors in Spain and is also a very low handicap golfer, which is not surprising.
