Biography: Another fine import from across the Irish Sea, spotted as a youngster by Matt Busby and he became his last signing for the club, the last ever Busby Babe. Once he had signed professional terms, Sammy made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut in a local derby against City in 1971. Serious injuries in 1973 stopped his progress for a while but he happily returned to help the club to a Second Division title and three FA Cup Finals. In his 11 years at Old Trafford, he was fully committed to the cause before being allowed to leave for Stoke City in a £350,000 transfer. Took Macclesfield Town into the Football League, has managed Northern Ireland, Stockport and Moreambe since 2005 taking them into the League.
