Biography: An outstanding youngster who played 23 games during the 1951- 1952 title winning season, when he partnered Roger Byrne at full back only to lose his place when Bill Foulkes emerged from the junior ranks, and he was sold to Liverpool in February 1954 for £7,000. He died in 1979, aged just 49.
