Birthplace: Greenock, Scotland

Position: Defender

Biography: John Neal paid £100,000 to Morton to bring the athletic Scot to London. He immediately formed a defensive partnership with Colin Pates, helping the club to a Second Division Championship. Over the next five seasons in 5W6 he was an automatic selection as a lynchpin at the back. He won a Full Members Cup medal in 1986 and another Division Two Championship in 1989 just months before Charlton paid a club record £650,000 to take him across the capital after Ken Monkou was brought in to partner David Lee. Went into coaching, with Millwall, and Morton but is now based in Glasgow running his own business recruiting young players for US universities. Also scouts for Bolton.
